Introduction to the Fudan International MBA Program The Fudan International MBA Program was launched in 1996 through a collaboration between the Fudan University School of Management and the MIT Sloan School of Management. The curriculum of the IMBA Program is jointly developed by the two schools, with the objective of cultivating senior managers with an international perspective and entrepreneurial spirit, well-adjusted to the demands of economic globalization and Chinese enterprises. IMBA Program participants who complete all required courses and a thesis are awarded a MBA diploma from Fudan University and a course certificate from MIT Sloan. In the course of its development, the IMBA Program has been shaped by its unique characteristics:1. Collaboration Between Leading Universities Fudan University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology are first-class universities in their respective countries. The IMBA Program is a collaboration between these two distinguished institutions, and its teaching methods, facilities and curriculum reflect the close cooperation between the two schools. 2. Internationalized Faculties The faculty of the IMBA Program have all studied overseas; most of them have spent semesters at MIT Sloan developing core courses and electives for the Program. The faculty are all widely-recognized scholars and teachers in their fields. Every year, MIT Sloan sends several professors to conduct workshops for Chinese faculty as well as teach and co-teach classes with their Chinese colleagues. 3. High-quality Teaching The IMBA Program implements many of the teaching methods of MIT Sloan, such as case studies, group discussions, computer simulations and consulting programs. The Program is designed to improve the students’ analytical and problem-solving abilities.All of the Program’s teaching materials are in English. 4. Effective Full Time Study Two years of full time study equips students with a great deal of new concepts and practices, which will help them to become more effective managers in their former or new career fields. Full time study also exposes students to the rich cultural environment at Fudan University. 5. Close cooperation with companies IMBA students have the opportunity to work in well-known national and international companies. Well-organized internships and consulting projects enable students to apply their academic knowledge to practical business problems. Some famous companies have established scholarships specially for excellent Fudan IMBA students, including Esquel Group of Hong Kong and Bearingpoint. 6. Students Exchanges with Overseas Business Schools IMBA students also often interact with visiting MBA students from other domestic and overseas business schools. Many students with excellent academic performance are awarded the opportunity to study in overseas business schools. 7. High-class Forums The Join Forum, seminars and other joint activities allow students to communicate frequently with world leading scholars and business leaders. 8. Strong Alumni Network Full time study builds friendships among students, which will extend through the two-year program and beyond.
